Mount Towrong Garganega 2016
Garganega is traditionally grown in the hills of the Veneto region in Italy, and is suited to the continental climate of the upper King Valley. This grape variety is used in the wine, Soave from Northern Italy.
The 2016 Garganega nose displays fresh pineapple, lemon and spice. The palate is long and zesty with intense citrus and pineapple flavours leading into a dry, nutty finish.
2016 was a mild, dry growing season. Yields for this season were lower than usual, but the small parcels of fruit allowed us to produce a wine with good flavour intensity, and backbone.
Single vineyard, Upper King Valley, Victoria
